Omg!! I miss this place so much! I would drive from SD to here anytime. The place is pretty popular because the food is so good! I'm so addicted to the kimchi also! So fresh and taste so delicious! My beef soup is also so flavorful and the meat just falls off the bone. My daughter and mom got the tofu soup which I stole some and they are soooo good! The galbi is so tender and the flavor is perfect. The banchan is also very good! I enjoyed every one of them. Service is also amazing! They are so friendly and very attentive. Everyone seems to enjoy their food. It's definitely my hidden gem! The place can be noisy with a TV playing, but I don't mind it. It's a very cute place with delicious food! Will always come back whenever I come down here.
가성비 좋고, 맛도 좋아요 재방문 의사 100% It's really good and very affordable! I would definitely visit here again and their service was really good!
Delicious korean mom and pop restaurant. Great service and amazing food. Tofu soup is super flavorful and comes with rice and tons of side dishes that change seasonally. They also have bibimbap which is a huge portion and very tasty. Their last call however is at 8pm everyday
I am so happy to have seen Myung Dong reopen their doors! They were closed for the longest due to a fire, but they are back in business. This is my favorite place to grab galbitang. The food portions and price is great. The service is quick and friendly! Their side dishes always rotate it seems, other than the staples like kimchi. It is cool as that's an introductory way of trying different bancchans they also serve both the soy marinade raw crabs and the spicy marinade raw crabs, definitely interesting if you want to try it out.
Not just a tofu restaurant. They have a large variety of Korean food and everything we ordered was good to great. When you order cold noodles, you get a regular bowl and a small bowl so you can order cold noodles as a side to share if you want to try other dishes but still want cold noodles (nengmyun). One of my favorite Korean food is the raw crab in soy sauce (kanjang gaejang). I was surprised to see it. A bit pricey but I would definitely order it again.
Myung Dong is one of my favorite Korean restaurants in town! This is the perfect spot to come to if you're looking for some traditional Korean food. Parking: So easy! Myung Dong is located in a spacious plaza, so there's plenty of parking. Wait: I haven't had to wait here because I always seem to come at slower times, but I think I've seen lines before! It's not a very big restaurant, so if you have a big party I would suggest calling ahead of time. Otherwise, you should be fine! Service: Service has always been great here! No complaints at all. Food: Their cold noodles (mul nengmyung) and steamed pork (bossam) are my go-to's! My husband loves their spicy tofu soup (soondubu). If you're new to Korean food, definitely order those three things. You'll love it! Their food it super flavorful and nicely balanced, and it all comes out with plenty of banchan! Definitely come check out this traditional Korean spot. You won't regret it!
I came here with my grandma for lunch on a weekday and it was fairly empty with only a couple tables occupied. My grandma ordered the seafood soondubu and I got the stone bibimbap with octopus. Once our orders were placed, the side dishes came out along with my grandma's mixed grain rice and fried croaker that usually comes as a side to soondubu at most places. The side dishes were really good and tasted homemade. My favorites were the mook moochim (acorn jelly) and the thinly sliced stir fried potatoes. They were all seasoned perfectly and not too salty. I also appreciated how nice the mixed grain rice was. It wasn't just purple rice but had a variety of different grains and beans to make it a healthier option. My stone bibimbap was HUGE! Ridiculously gigantic hot stone plate with a variety of veggies, lots of spicy octopus, a fried egg, and fish roe. The octopus was chewy (not tough) and the spicy marinade was really good. I loved the addition of fish roe and they don't skimp on the portion either. It's a hefty scoop so you can get the tiny little fish roe in every bite. Don't forget to press down the rice on the stone plate so it gets nice and crispy. I love to scrape off the burnt rice at the end; it's literally the best part. My grandma also really enjoyed her soondubu and she said it was the best she's had in the area, so that's saying something! Portions are really good for the price point because everything is expensive now due to inflation. Service was amazing and the side dishes were abundant and delicious. The food was really good and I'd love to try their other dishes as well - I'll be back!
